Skill development workshop for women begins at KBN College in Vijayawada
Vijayawada: Women are equally good in their work when compared to men, said Gannavaram Tahsildar M Madhuri. She was the chief guest at 10-day skill development workshop organised on the college premises of KBN College which started on Monday.
The programme was organised by the college women empowerment wing with the support of Naandhi Foundation. Speaking on the occasion, Madhuri said that women do any work effectively whether job or business. She said that there was a wide scope of job opportunities to women in companies like HCL, L & T and others established at Medha Towers, Gannavaram and the youth should make the use of those opportunities.
She said that to provide jobs to the unemployed youth, the government was releasing notification to create employment, she informed. She said that students should learn skill development courses while pursuing their graduation.
College principal Dr V Narayana Rao said that they were organising various programmes to bring out the hidden talent from the students. He said that this workshop would benefit the students who do not have computers subject in their course. He said that a few skilled professionals would participate in the 10-day workshop to guide the students.Skill expert Sailaja, lecturers Dr Majarunnisa, P Bharati and others were present.
