80,000 lost jobs in TD rule

Nellore: YSRCP activists have demanded that the state government to keep promise of providing employment dole of Rs 2,000 to the jobless. YSRCP youth wing organised a protest in front of the Collectorate on Tuesday.

Wing district convener and corporator P Roopkumar Yadav said the ruling party had promised to youth a support of Rs 2,000 before 2014 elections and also assured employment to them.

Contrary to their assurances, the state government had retrenched 80,000 contract and outsourcing employees giving a jolt to them. The state government had failed to fill 2.5 lakh jobs in government sector in the state and were playing political gimmicks at the time of elections, he said.

Roopkumar said now there are 1.8 crore unemployed in the entire state, only 12 lakh people are being paid a meager support. They demanded employment to the eligible and dole to others, who failed to get job. Youth leaders Sudhir Babu, Sravan Kumar and others were present.
