MLA Badeti Bujji promises welfare fund for weavers

Eluru: MLA Badeti Bujji has promised the handloom workers to strive for setting up of Handloom Welfare Fund.

Participating in Handloom Day celebrations here on Tuesday, the MLA assured the workers he would convince Chief Minister to float a fund for the welfare of the handloom workers. 

He stressed on the need to introduce modern technology to the weavers who still depended on traditional fabric making.

The MLA said that the handloom workers were struggling with the old system of fabric making. 

Replacement of the system with latest technology would be possible with formation of the fund. 

The workers would be provided loans and modern machinery for the workers through the fund. It would help in phased uplift of the community.

Earlier, the MLA was felicitated by Venkateswara Swamy Devasthanam chairman S Rajaa Babu.
