Road safety rally held

Tirupati: The Orthopaedics department of Ruia Hospital and Tirupati Orthopaedic Surgeons Society organised a public awareness rally on Tuesday following a call given by the Indian Orthopaedic Association. The HoD of Orthopaedics department Dr V Srinvasa Reddy, RTO G Vivekananda Reddy, MVI Siva Reddy participated in the rally and created awareness to vehicle users and pedestrians about lines of safety to the self and bystanders.

They explained the importance of following traffic signals with increased vehicular traffic, safety on highways, problems of over-speeding, cell phone driving, drunken driving and overtaking which have become common causes of accidents in which youth are involved. After the rally, an interactive meeting was held at the department of Orthopaedics.  

Prof S Suresh Reddy, Prof Markandeya Sharma, Joint Secretary of the Orthopaedic Surgeons Society of Andhra Pradesh (OSSAP) Dr Sunand Kumar Reddy, members of Tirupathi Orthopaedic Surgeons Society (TOSS) President Dr Ravi Shankar, Ruia Hospital RMO Dr U Srihari and other orthopaedic faculty members, faculty of other departments, medical students, nursing students and paramedical students participated actively in the programme.
