Update: 2018-08-08 05:30 IST

Tirupati: The TTD Employees Joint Action Committee (JAC) comprising various unions has intensified its efforts in mobilising the support of employees to launch phase wise agitation from August 16th onwards if the management fails to resolve their long-pending 23 demands. The JAC already served a notice to TTD EO Anil Kumar Singhal urging him to meet their demands by August 15.

The TTD has around 8,000 employees, the highest number, after the AP Secretariat. The main demands include house sites for employees, cashless medical treatment for employees in Chennai and Bengaluru corporate hospitals, at least one promotion in the entire service, not to allow government officials on deputation in TTD for more than 2 years and to stop construction of Kalayana Mandapams and choultries in Telugu states on the recommendations of political leaders.

Allotment of house sites to employees is the major issue among all demands. The JAC leaders say the state government took 150 acres belong to the TTD for establishment of the Sri Padmavati Mahila Viswa Vidyalayam (SPMVV) in 1984.

In return, the government had given in writing to the TTD that it would allocate 300 acres at an alternative location near Tirupati city for house sites to employees. But, the assurance was not fulfilled till date. The TTD employees have been waiting for house sites for the last ten years. The employees are demanding the TTD management to change the service rules which were framed sixty years ago.

Speaking to The Hans India, TTD Employees JAC convener M Nagarjuna said that employees unions’ have been requesting the TTD management to resolve their pending issues. But, the EOs did not respond to our requests, he added. The JAC leader warned the management of launching the protest with the participation of all employees from August third week.
