ACB officials raid RTA check post at Pondugula

Guntur: The Anti-Corruption Bureau officials raided the Road Transport Authority check post at Pondugula in Guntur district in the early hours of Wednesday and found Rs 72,030 excess cash and they seized it. The Anti-Corruption Bureau officials led by ACB DSP Devanand Santho raided the RTA check post at Pondugula for collecting excess amount from the drivers and vehicle owners. 

He said that received complaints fromdrivers and vehicle owners in this regard. Based on the complaints, they raided the check post and found Rs 72,030 excess cash.

The private staff of the assistant vehicle inspector Anil Kumar were allegedly collecting Rs 1,000 to Rs 10,000 from the transport vehicles coming from Telangana State depending upon irregularities, they are reportedly collecting bribes. The ACB officials will send their report to the DG of ACB who will forward the same to the government with a recommendation for taking further action.
