APSSDC signs MoU for setting up MSDCs

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation has signed an MoU with Johnson Controls-Hitachi Air Conditioning India Limited, (JCH-IN) to set up Model Skill Development Centers (MSDC) in Andhra Pradesh. 

In this regard, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by T Anil Kumar, Executive Director, APSSDC and S Vivek Mani from JCH here on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, APSSDC Executive Director T Anil Kumar said, “The MSDCs will offer courses in AC Repair and Maintenance for four batches of 20-30 candidates each in a year. 

The centre is training about 600 candidates in a year. The course duration will be of 3 months. The course syllabus will be provided by JCH-IN and certification will be done jointly by JCH-IN and APSSDC.

This training will enable unemployed youth and for school dropouts to take up the AC technician course and pursue the profession by being empanelled with an AC dealer/company or by self-employment.”

The first two MSDC’s in ITI – Kakinada and Vijayawada will be operational in September 2018. 

The next phase would have centres in ITIs located in Nellore, Anantapur and Visakhapatnam.
