Tributes paid to Karunanidhi
Yerragondapalem: The death of DMK president and former chief minister of Tamil Nadu and moreover son of Prakasam district, M Karunandhi is a grave loss to the country, said the speakers who paid tributes to the deceased politician in a rally and special meeting held at Yerragondapalem on Wednesday.
The Nayi Brahmin Sangham and other public fronts organized a rally and public meeting in respect of the Karunanidhi in the town.
The Millampalli Venugopala Swamy temple chairman Ch Nageswara Rao said that Karunanidhi got political consciousness at the very younger age of 14 years and formed a youth society and a student organization, Tamil Manavar Mundrum with the inspiration of Alagiri Swamy.
He said that Karunanidhi fought with the government against the change of name o Kallukudi town as Dalmiapuram and won hearts of public.
Shaik Karimulla TDP Muslim Minority leader said that Karunanidhi won as MLA at the age of 33 years through DMK and became chief minister of Tamil Nadu after the death of Anna Durai in 1967.
He said that the present generation of politicians should inspire from his political activism.
The Nayi Brahmin Sangham state committee member M Venkateswarlu, district committee member B Nasarayya, constituency president I Alluraiah, mandal president D Gopaiah, town president L Chennaiah and others also participated in the rally and meeting.
