AP Govt planning to impart quality education: Ganta
Visakhapatnam: The second edition of the Gnana Bheri will be conducted at Andhra University Engineering College on August 19 and 20 to bring out the hidden talent of the students. It is expected that as many as 20,000 students from various colleges across the state will present in a two-day event and showcase their talent.
Minister for HRD Ganta Srinivasa Rao convened a meeting with all the key officials in the district to review the arrangements for the event. Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that the main aim of the programme is to bring out the skills and hidden talent of the students.
The state government is planning to impart the quality education with ethical values and discipline right from the primary education to the university level, the minister added. In order to oragnise the two-day ‘Gnana Bheri’ programme, the government allotted Rs 10 crore to each district. The students from all the universities and all noted colleges are coming to participate in the event, he added.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will be present at the valedictory function on August 20. The Chief Minister will interact with the students and present certificates to the best exhibits in the event, the minister said.
The minister directed the officials to make arrangements, including lodging, boarding and transport facilities, to all the students who are coming from across the state. The minister directed the officials to create an awareness on the event at all the educational institutions on or before August 18.
Collector Pravin Kumar, Commissioner of Police Mahesh Chandra Laddah, GVMC Commissioner M Hari Narayanan, Vice-Chancellor of Andhra University G Nageswara Rao, Additional Joint Collelctor Dr A Siri, Registrar of Andhra University Niranjan were present at the meeting.
