Accused in rowdy-sheeter murder held
Visakhapatnam: The city police arrested the seven accused, who were involved in the murder of rowdy- sheeter Md Kasim in the city on August 2. Addressing the media here on Friday, City Police Commissioner Mahesh Chandra Laddha disclosed the details of the murder.
Police identified M Chitti babu alias Chitti Mamu as the main accused, who hatched a plan to eliminate Md Kasim, and deployed A Madhusudhan Rao (Madhu), S Satish, G Vinod Kumar Reddy, S Rehan, Ch Hemanth Kumar and G Srinivasu.
As per his plan, Chitti Mamu had purchased an old auto in the name of Madhusudhan Rao three months ago to implement the plan and they also bought sharp knives from Anakapalle. Chitti Mamu also arranged a country made pistol with three rounds of bullets to kill Md Kasim.
On receiving information about Kasim, the accused Arya Kumar, Shyam, Srinu and V Anand deputed Pawan, Prasad and G Venkatesh to trace Kasim’s movements.
When Kasim was passing through Daba Gardens on Activa at 10.30 pm on August 2, Madhu and Vinod came on Pulsar while Rehan, Hemanth, Satish and Rajesh followed them in an auto and hit Activa with their vehicle. When Kasim fell on the road, Madhu pointed the pistol at him while the other accused pulled knives and hacked him to death.
After committing the crime, Rajesh fled the spot, while the remaining accused returned to Chitti Mamu’s house and left on the auto and Pulsar.
Later, they handed over the pistol to one Srinu at Kasimkota and also took Rs 10,000 for their expenses and reached Annavaram.
Furthermore, they left the auto at Annavaram bus stand and moved towards Kakinada, Rajahmahendravaram and Bhadrachalam. While the accused were returning to Vizag, police nabbed them at Moodumadula Junction on National Highway-16 near Thadi village in Visakhapatnam.
