Excise SI lands in ACB net; 5-cr assets recovered

Chittoor: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths raided the house Excise Sub-Inspector Vijaya Kumar at Kajoor in Chittoor city on Friday and recovered Rs 5 crore worth property documents, land agreements, gold ornaments, and cash from him.

Vijaya Kumar is working as Excise SI at Naguladinne Excise check-post in Kurnool district. Native of Chittoor city, Vijaya Kumar had worked as constable here.

He was reportedly involved in illegal transportation of spirit while he was working here, and higher officials suspended him. On promotion, he was posted as SI at Naguladinne check-post in Kurnool district.

After receiving several complaints against Vijaya Kumar, the ACB conducted raids on the houses of Vijaya Kumar and his relatives in Chittoor, Tirupati, Kurnool and Katpadi in Vellore city of Tamil Nadu. The ACB officials likely to continue searches on Saturday also.
