Heavy rains lash city

Visakhapatnam: Rain sans break lashed the city and almost all the areas witnessed the heavy downpour on Friday. All the low-lying areas, including Poorna Market and other areas, inundated with rain and drainage water.

Sewage water flooded the roads at several places. At Convent Junction, six feet water stagnated at the railway bridge and hundreds of vehicles stopped due to the drainage water. Low-lying areas in the Old City were flooded with drain water.

Denizens stayed indoors due to continuous rain for two hours. However, in the late evening normalcy was restored. Meanwhile, the IMD predicted that that more rains will lash in the coming two days.
