Reveal expenditure details: BJP

Update: 2018-08-11 05:30 IST

Rajamahendravaram: BJP MLA Dr Akula Satyananarayana has said that it is the duty of the state government to tell the expenditure details of amount withdrawn from personal deposit accounts in the state.

Speaking to reporters at his office here on Friday, he said instead of giving clarification, TDP leaders were criticising BJP leaders, which shows their intolerance for asking accounts.

Rajya Sabha member GVL Narasimha Rao was questioning the state government basing on CAG report, which is a constitutional body.

As there was no audit to the amounts deposited in personal deposit accounts, it was inevitable to state government to reveal the details of deposits and expenditure.

The BJP cannot be a mere spectator, if the state government rejects to tell the details as it was the money of the people. The people were observing everything, he added.

“Why the state government increased the estimates of Sarva Siksha Abhiyan funds to Rs 4,300 crore from Rs 2,000 crore given by Central government,” he questioned.

He advised the TDP leaders to behave with dignity, whose government was responsible to the people in all aspects and the people were having the right to know the details of the amounts, he added.

BJP leaders KB Singh, A Gopi, N Padmari and others were present.
