Viral fevers, dengue cases reported

Pithapuram:  Viral fevers are on the raise in many villages of the mandal on account of the prevailing unhygienic conditions there. The dengue threat looms large in many of the villages. 

The seriousness of the situation can be understook with 25 residents of Gokivada getting hospitalized with viral fevers.  

Inabiity to raise to the occasion by the special officers of panchayats is being ridiculed from all quarters.  

Dengue symptoms surfaced in B Kotturu and Mallam villages. A 20-year-old woman in Mallam and a 4- year-old boy were down with dengue symptoms and were admitted to government hospital at Kakinada. 

In all, 20 villagers from Gokivada have been admitted to Area Hospital here. Besides, 30 villagers have been admitted to various hospitals. The affected include children and the aged. 

Sea change in climate the seasonal diseases are on the raise. 

Sanitation became a casualty in villages. Dung, hay became rotten and emitting foul smell. The mosquito menace is on the raise. 

DMHO Ramesh Kishore, RDO L Raghu Babu expressed their ire at the prevailing unhygienic conditions in Gokivada. They said that a medical camp was held in the village to treat seasonal fevers. 

The unhygienic conditions in the village were brought to the notice of the panchayat then. 

They said that some dengue cases have surfaced at Tuni, Amalapuram, Kakinada and Pithapuram. 

RDO L Raghu Babu expressed his dissatisfaction over the sanitation in the village. 

He said the panchayat did nothing except sprinkling the bleaching powder when the viral fevers are on the rage for the past four days. 

He asked the panchayat to requisition sanitation works from other panchayats and improve the sanitation.
