Vijayawada: Former Union minister M M Pallam Raju said that the Congress would not have any election alliance with the Telugu Desam Party. Addressing the training workshop for party workers here on Saturday, he said that the Telugu Desam was founded against the ideology of Congress party.

He said that the differences that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had with Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the reason behind the TDP extending support to the Congress in the election to the post of Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman. The former minister also said that the people were vexed with the policies of the Centre and the State governments. He said that the Congress party was constructing the party right from the grass-root level while training is being provided to rank and file of the party. He said that the Congress party alone would do justice to the State.

The Congress national leadership had already announced the sanctioning of the Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh if it is voted to power in the next elections, he recalled. He asked the rank and file of the party to explain the facts to the public. He hoped that the senior leaders who left the party after State bifurcation would come back. He said that the Congress would contest in all the constituencies in the State and register victory.
