Make foolproof arrangements for Independence Day: Minister K Atchannaidu
Srikakulam: Minister for Transport K Atchannaidu directed the officials to make proper arrangements for the Independence Day celebrations in Srikakulam so that the city would wear a new look. The minister held a review meeting with the officials here on Saturday on the arrangements. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is expected to participate in the celebrations.
Atchannaidumade some suggestions to officials to take steps to keep away animals - cattle, pigs and dogs from roads. All footpath vendors and push cartshave to be shifted. They have to make all the required arrangements for quick flow of rain and drain water. Minister asked officials to remove encroachments on roads on war foot basis as available time is too short. Remove silt in all drains in two days across the city to prevent stagnation of rain water on roads, he instructed.
He also suggested officials, especially police officials, not to create any problem for entry of various sections of people for the programme. They have to make arrangements to avoid disturbances at the time. Minister alsosuggested officials and TDP leaders not to arrange any banners and flexis on roads which will cause trouble for traffic and vehicular movement.
All buildings on either side of main roads including government offices should be illuminated with electric bulbs across the city two days before to Independence Day celebrations, he added. ZPchairperson ChDhanalaxmi, MLAGLaxmidevi, District Collector KDhanunjaya Reddy, JCKVN ChakradharaBabu and other officials were present.
