Nursing supdt, staff nurses suspended at RIMS
Srikakulam: In the wake of death of four women patients at RIMS hospital recently due to reaction of ceftriaxion injection, the medical and health department officials initiated stringent steps.
The principal secretary to the government, medical and health, Poonam Malakondaiah, suspended RIMS nursing superintendent B Jyothi Sarala and two staff nurses, Chilakamma, Sitaralakshmi and suspension orders were served on them on Saturday.
Based on the report given by Srikakulam RDO and his team and the Collector’s recommendations, suspension orders were issued.
After confirmation of laboratory tests, some more staff would be punished, RIMS officials said.
“We communicated suspension orders to the staff concerned”, said RIMS director A Krishnaveni.
