Over 1.12 lakh people benefit from Chief Minister Relief Fund
Vijayawada: Telugu Desam Party MLC B Arjunudu handed over Chief Minister Relief Fund (CMRF) cheques worth Rs 3.30 lakh to the beneficiaries at the party office here on Saturday. Addressing the media persons, Arjunudu said that more than 1.12 lakh people were benefitted from CMRF in the state since 2014.
He said that the State government has spent about Rs 840 crore under the CMRF in the State and 1,12,196 people have been benefited from treatment of major diseases like cancer, cardiac surgery, kidney transplantation, brain tumour surgeries, liver and multiple organ failure etc. The MLC said that the main objective of the CMRF was to provide relief to the people, who are affected by major natural calamities and for treatment of major diseases to families below the poverty line (BPL).
He said that the State government was extending the CMRF to all sections of people irrespective of caste, region and political parties across the state to provide financial assistance to the BPL families for undergoing treatment to various diseases at private hospitals, he added.
