Police arrest thieves; booty recovered

Visakhapatnam: The Gajuwaka police arrested 19 thieves, who were involved in 11 theft cases, which were registered under Parawada, Steel Plant and Gajuwaka Police Station limits. 

Police recovered a college bus, four two wheelers, 53 mobile phones, 30 grams of gold ornaments and one 62 watts generator from them.

Addressing the media here on Saturday, DCP (Crime) L Damodar said that all the accused were involved in theft and among them 14 accused were arrested  only under  Gajuwaka Police Station limits, the 14 accused are identified as S Leela Prasad, P Surendra Kumar, P Sai, G Jagadeswar Rao, N Kumar, M Krishna, N Amarnadh, Ch Santosh,  M Suresh, P Nana Rao, B Prudhviraj, V Ravi Kumar, Mohan and  Sai Prasanna. 

Gajuwaka Circle Inspector PP Naidu said that  Parwada police arrested three cattle thieves S Borayya, V Raja Murthy  and B Mahesh  and recovered three buffaloes, two calves from them and Steel Plant police arrested K Kanaka Raju  and recovered a college bus.

The DCP (Crime) said that most of the accused are teenagers as they were habituated to luxurious life, hence, they are committing crime in the city. 

Parents should keep a tab on their wards whether they are leading righteous life or attracting to any other criminal activities. 

If the parents found that their children are on the wrong path, they can approach police so that they conduct counselling to such youngsters confidentially.
