Will raise income of MEPMA women further: Minister P Narayana

  • Says houses handed over in a transparent manner for beneficiaries 

Nellore: Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana said that aim of the state government is to enhance income of the Mission for Elimination of Poverty in Municipal Areas (MEPMA) women from the current Rs 65,000 to Rs 1.2 lakh by 2020. 

He interacted with the MEPMA staff and Sadhikara Mitra volunteers in the city on Saturday and said their income in 2014 was only Rs 36,000.

He said the Chief Minister is keen on improving financial conditions of women, but lack of capital city has been hampering many processes. 

The Minister said, hence, the Chief Minister had announced honorarium to the resource persons and HR policy to the staff members. 

He said they were constructing 73,000 houses in 7 municipalities across the district and they would be completed by December this year. 

Narayana also said they had handed over houses recently to the beneficiary through lottery for transparent process. 

Resource persons of the MEPMA and others felicitated the Minister during the programme. 

Managing Director of the MEPMA K China Tataiah and others were present.
