All set for Independence Day fete in Srikakulam

Srikakulam: Police and officials have made elaborate arrangements for the Independence Day celebrations.  It may be recalled that every year Independence Day celebrations are being conducted at different places.  This year, celebrations will be held in Srikakulam. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will take part in Independence Day fete. Hence, police started rehearsals for parking vehicles and diversion of traffic in the city.

“We identified parking lots for different category vehicles at the Government RIMS hospital, Hudco Colony, New Colony and APSRTC depot areas”, said Superintendent of Police Dr CM Trivikrama Varma. Police identified the government degree college for men road as VVIP road and to avoid traffic rush on all other roads, diversion points were identified across the city. 

On the other hand, Collector K Dhanunjaya Reddy, Joint Collector KVN Chakradhara Babu inspected arrangements at the Government Degree College grounds on Sunday.  Officials also observed rehearsals and preparations for other events at the college grounds. Police identified different routes for entry into the venue for VVIPs, VIPs, officials and common public to avoid traffic rush on August 15.
