Marwaris take out Sravan Kavad Yatra

Visakhpatnam: Around 2,000 devotees take out Sravan Kavad Yatra organised by Marwari Yuva Manch here on Sunday. The yatra was started from Madhavdhara temple and passed through Muralinagar Junction, Coco Cola Junction, Tarchatipallem  Junction, Railway New Colony, Diamond Park, Dwarakanagar, RTC Complex and  Siripuram and concluded at Pandurangapuram.

Marwari devotees, including children and women, participated in Kavad Yatra by draping bright coloured dress and holding the scared stick tied with saffron coloured fabric and pots which are filled with holy water which was fetched from the waterfall of Madhavdhara temple.

People from other communities like Odiyas, Biharis and others took part in the procession swaying merrily to the tunes of devotional hymns and beats. Later, after reaching the Lord Shiva temple at Pandurangapuram, devotees performed special abhishekam with holy water.
