NCC cadets enrolment drive held in Eluru

Eluru: NCC girl cadets enrolment for the year 2018-2019 was held at Ch SD St Teresa’s College for Women here on Sunday. Lt Col B Leeladhar, the Commanding Officer, Lt Col Md Ansar, the Administrative Officer and the PI Staff of 19 (A) BN NCC conducted the selection procedure for 140 volunteer students. 

After checking for the basic required height and weight, the physical tests were conducted and 42 of them have been selected as NCC cadets.

Dr Sr Mercy, the Principal and Major Dr PM Celine Rose, the Associate NCC Officer of the college welcomed both the Commanding Officer and the Administrative Officer. 

Lt Col B Leeladhar, the Commanding Officer motivated the volunteer students through his message. He explained how NCC transformed his personality. 

He also asked the students to compare the NCC cadets and non-NCC cadets of the college where they can make out the difference in discipline, personality, leadership qualities, courage, character, sportsperson spirit, service towards society etc.

During their interaction with the officers, a few students expressed that they would like to become IAS, IPS and Army Officers. Hence they preferred NCC as a platform. 

Both the officers congratulated the selected students and expressed that they were fortunate to be part of the Best College NCC unit that send maximum number of cadets to Republic Day Parade in Delhi and other nationally organised camps.
