Ongole: Members of Agrigold Customers and Agents Welfare Association demanded that the government and judicial system deliver justice to them.

A few of them tonsured their heads in front of Ambedkar statue in Ongole as a protest for the delay in finalizing the procedure to settle the accounts and the political drama behind the Agrigold assets auction.

The association leaders, V Tirupati Rao, V Hanuma Reddy, V Bapuji, N Srinivasa Rao, G Subbarao, SV Subbaiah and others said that the Essel Group owner Subhash Chandra announced that they were ready to takeover Agrigold with Rs 5,000 crore ready deposit but now changed the word to handover the assets in a month but pay Rs 4,050 crore in 4.5 years.

They alleged that it was nothing but trying to loot the company and the public money without investing a rupee. They said that though the government and court reviews the status of the Agrigold case regularly, there was indefinite delay in the settlement of the case.

They demanded that the government also seize the assets of founder directors, marketing directors and their family members along with the assets of its chairman’s son in Dubai and sell them in public auction to do justice to thousands of Agrigold victims.
