Andhra University inks pact with Information Technology Association of Andhra Pradesh
Visakhapatnam: The Andhra University entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Information Technology Association of Andhra Pradesh (ITAAP) here on Monday to conduct Employable Training Programmes for the students to meet the needs of growing IT sector.
Prof K Niranjan, Registrar and R L Narayana, president of ITAAP, signed and exchanged the MoU papers in the presence of Vice-Chancellor Prof G Nageswara Rao and MP K Haribabu.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Nageswara Rao said that the varsity would provide all infrastructural facilities to conduct employable training programmes in the university campus. He said the IT sector required thousands of youth and the ITAAP and university jointly train and provide human capital to the IT sector.
He said the notification for admission into these training programmes would be issued on August 27 and applications would be accepted till September 10. The classes would start from September 17, the VC said. MP Haribabu said the Centre and State governments were giving more emphasis on skill development programmes.
Prof K Gayatri Devi, Rector Kosaraju Sridhar, O Naresh Kumar, Dr Kumar Raja, Prof P S Avadhani, Prof T Vinod Rao, Prof D S Prakasa Rao, Prof M V R Raju, Prof Sivaprasada Rao, Prof Pramila Devi, Prof D V R Murthy and Dr Challa Ramakrishna were present.
