Induction programme for lecturers held at APHRDI in Bapatla

Bapatla: “Teachers are nation builders. They have to transform the students into holistic personalities,” said K Hari Prasad, State Project Director, Rastriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan. 

He was speaking at the induction programme of newly recruited government degree college lecturers at AP Human Resource Development Institute (APHRDI) in Bapatla on Monday.

He said the teachers should give confidence to the students and mould them so that they will become responsible citizens and added that teachers should be the best communicators. 

He informed that RUSA had sanctioned Rs 16 lakh for this induction programme and added that  an amount or Rs 392 crore was sanctioned by RUSA to different universities and colleges for their development in the State.

Director General of APHRDI D Chkrapani who  presided over the inaugural session of the induction programme said the institute had so far conducted 360 training programmes and trained 30,000 government employees in different areas.

Acharya Nagarjuna University Vice-Chancellor B Rajendra Prasad said that teachers should be the role models for their students and added that they should be honest and impartial.

Noted human rights leader Prof G Haragopal said that the teachers were the transmitters of knowledge. He said that the technology and knowledge have come to the doorstep of teachers and students.

About 158 newly recruited lecturers participated in the induction programme. Retired RJD of Higher Education Prasada Rao, retired reader of Arts College P C Sai Babu and others were present.
