Visakhapatnam: Andhra University Vice-Chancellor Prof G Nageswara Rao has advised the heads of departments to actively participate in the arrangements for the “Jnana Bheri” to be conducted on August 19-20.

Addressing the HoDs of the university colleges on Monday, the VC said the university should make the Jnana Bheri a grand success by involving all the faculty and students. He said the HoDs and all faculty members should take active part in mobilising the students to participate in various cultural, sports and essay writing and debate competitions.

The HoDs and faculty members should send the list of students to participate in the Jnana Bheri. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao would interact with the students during the programme, the VC said.

Earlier, the VC released a book titled “Prapanchamlo Aadivasila Sarvathomukhabhivruddi—Neraveredeppudu” authored by Prof M Prasada Rao, member of the Executive Council.

Speaking on the occasion, the VC said the adivasis should be brought to the mainstream and the governments should take steps to make them develop and progress.
