Vijayawada table tennis players excel in State tourney

​Vijayawada: The city table tennis players once again proved their capability by winning the Andhra Pradesh State Table Tennis Tournament held at Ananthapur from August 10 to 12, according to coach Y Damodar Reddy here on Monday.

In a statement, Reddy said that the players of Chennupati Ramakotaiah Municipal Corporation Indoor Stadium excelled in the tournament by winning medals in all categories. Dohadavati won cadet championship, women champion was won by Sailu Noorbasha and Youth boys champion was won by Pavan Kumar for the third consecutive time.

He said that in youth girls division and in women division Sailu Noorbasha won gold and where as Dohadavati won gold in cadet division. He said in boys division K Pavan Kumar won silver, and won gold in youth boys division. In juniors division Naseera Bi Noorbasha won bronze medal, said Reddy. 

In doubles juniors division Naseera Bi Noorbasha won silver and Dohadavati won bronze medals, he added. The players underwent training from coach V Bhargavi. State TT secretary SM Sultan, vice-president Vishwanath, district secretary K Balaram, president Prakash and others congratulated the players.
