Draw inspiration freedom fighters, students told in Guntur

Guntur: Freedom-fighter Pavuluri Sivarama Krishna has said that India got freedom because of sacrifices made by freedom-fighters.

He addressed a meeting held at Vignan's University at Vadlamudi on the occasion of 72nd Independence Day on Wednesday.

He urged the youth to draw inspiration from the freedom-fighters and work for the development of the country. He stressed on significance of discipline in the life. He hoisted the national flag and received guard of honour from the NCC cadets in the college.

Another freedom-fighter Modugula Papi Reddy explained significance of moral values in the life and reminded that Mahatma Gandhi used non-violence as a tool to get freedom. 

Vignan University Vice-Chancellor MYS Prasad, Vignan Group chairman Dr Lavu Rathaiah, vice-chairman Lavu Srikrishnadevarayalu were among those participated.

At Bhashyam Educational Institutions, chairman Bhashyam Ramakrishna urged the students to try to fulfill the dreams of the freedom-fighters who sacrificed their lives for freedom of our country.

At Central School, director SP Ramachandra Rao urged the students draw inspiration from the freedom-fighters who sacrificed their life for country.

Later, the students performed cultural programmes.
