Energy efficiency plays key role in developing countries

Visakhapatnam: Energy efficiency will play a key role in developing countries like India, opined Executive Director of HPCL-Visakh Refinery ASV Ramanan. As part of 72nd Independence Day celebrations, Ramanan hoisted the National Flag on the refinery premises and inspected the guard of honour from the CISF unit led by TV Rao, the assistant commandant.

Addressing the gathering, Ramanan apprised the developments in the refinery and complimented the employees for good performance. The refinery achieved record profit of Rs 6,357 crore He insisted the improvement of safety in refinery operations and also emphasised the safety and environmental measures and its systemic implementation.  

Ramanan emphasised the synergy and the importance of teamwork to face the challenges. He also stressed upon the augmentation of refinery facilities on a timely basis, which is one of the prime requirements for enhancing the profitability.  

He also mentioned that the mega project Visakh Refinery modernisation for increasing the refining capacity to 15 MMTPA is progressing in a phased manner. On the occasion, Ramanan presented the service awards to 60 employees who completed 40,35,30,25,20 and 15 years of service in the corporation.

Narisetty Raja Rao, General Manager HR, presided over the programme.  B Balagangadharam, Chief General Manager-Technical, V Ratan Raj, Chief General Manager-Operations, P Veerabhadra Rao, Chief General Manager-Maintenance, N Ramachandran, Chief General Manager-Finance, G Rama, Head-Materials, R Ramakrishnan, Head-Commissioning, VRMP and M Kali and VL Narasimham, Manager (PR) graced the occasion.
