Hunt on for man for raping step daughter

Chirala: The Prakasam district police started searching for a man, who raped his innocent step daughter a week ago. The incident came to light late as the mother and daughter fear for life to complain to police.

According to BV Sagar, HELP NGO coordinator and paralegal volunteer, the HELP NGO organized a legal awareness camp locally on Thursday. The NGO representatives and government officials explained the child trafficking, child marriages and atrocities on children and women to the aanganwadi workers and local women. 

A local woman contacted Sagar and informed about the incident of the man raping his step daughter. P Bhaktavatsala Reddy, CI of Police, Chirala rural police station said that Mallaiah from Kandukur married a woman, who has a daughter from her late first husband and set family at Vetapalem for the last seven years. 

As the girl was matured about a month ago, the man offered to buy new clothes to her a week back and took her on the motor cycle to the fields near Kandukur. He raped her the whole night and informed his relatives about the whereabouts of the girl over phone. 

The mother took the girl to home and feared for life to complain to police. After receiving the complaint from Sagar, the Chirala police booked a case against Mallapu Sivaiah and shifted the victim to the hospital. The DSP formed three teams and searching for the accused and announced that they will catch him soon.
