Polavaram: Agency villages and Polavaram areas cut off from the rest of the world as the bridge leading to the agency and Polavaram project at Kadamma sluice submerged on Monday. The rising level of River Godavari is sending jitters to the people in agency villages and other riparian areas. According to Central Water Commission, 13.4 metres water level was registered at Polavaram.

The flood marooned all gates at Kademma sluice and Pattiseema Kovvada canal outfall sluice. As a result, the flood flow from hilly streams is inundating agriculture fields. The agriculture officials of the mandal estimated that the flood stranded in about 350 acres.

People suffered a lot as incessant rains continued on the third day. The bus services between Polavaram and Jangareddigudem were cancelled because of marooned roads. On the other hand, farmers have been worried about stranded flood for one week in the farm lands. Revenue officials have engaged in relief measures in Polavaram and other marooned areas.
