YSRCP leaders visit rain-affected localities in Vijayawada

​Vijayawada: Former MLA and YSRCP city working president Malladi Vishnu along with other party leaders visited the rain-affected areas of Ajit Singh Nagar and Payakapuram main road which was flooded with rain water here on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, Vishnu said that for the last four years the residents of these areas were suffering from knee-deep flood when it rains heavily. He blamed the VMC for not maintaining proper side canals and removing the silt regularly resulting in flooded rain water. He said that due to stagnated rain water on the main road, the movement of vehicles halted and the residents were facing severe problems. He blamed the department for not maintaining proper infrastructure leaving people in the lurch.

He visited 55th division Shanti Nagar, Prashanti Nagar and other areas, and found that rain water entered into about 1,000 houses. He also visited 59th division Bose Nagar, Kandrika and other adjacent areas where the families were facing the worst situation with rain water entering the houses.
