No open slaughtering of animals for Bakrid says Municipal Corporation Commissioner Sumit Kumar

Rajamahendravaram: Municipal Corporation Commissioner Sumit Kumar has said that open slaughtering of animals in connection with Bakrid festival on Wednesday was not allowed in the city.

According to a press note released here on Tuesday, cows and calves should not be sacrificed. Cows above 13 years of age can be allowed. 

The slaughtering in open places, yards in the places where children moves were also not allowed under the guise of tradition.

The slaughtering allowed only in the presence of respective authorised persons. 

The Commissioner directed corporation health officer Dr MVR Murthi not to allow anything against the rules.
