Venkaiah Naidu upset over protocol violations

Amaravati: Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu reportedly expressed his displeasure over the failure of School of Planning and Architecture (SPA) in not following protocolin inviting top leaders of the state for its third convocation in Vijayawada.

Venkaiah Naidu came to city on Wednesday to participate in the SPA’s third convocation and to formally inaugurate integrated campus which became operational from July 2018 on Thursday.

The SPA management did not invite Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, other concerned ministers of state government, MPs, MLAs and even the first citizen of the city, Mayor Koneru Sridhar.After receiving Venkaiah Naidu and Governor ESL Narasimhan, Koneru Sridhar informed the protocol violation with them.As soon as Venkaiah Naidu realised the protocol violation, he enquired with the management of SPA.

According to the SPA officials, they invited Naidu for the programme.But due to hectic schedule,Naidu informed to SPA that he would not attend the programme. On hearing this, Venkaiah Naidu said that it was not good and disappointed over the management of SPA.Koneru Sridhar said that there was no rule in the BJP government.

He said that even the Governor was also shocked by saying, “Why did not they invite you? You are the first citizen of the city!”. Though it is Central government institute, the state government gave land for construction, observed sports minister Kollu Ravindra, after inviting the Vice-President and the Governor. Mayor informed that after intervention of Venkaiah Naidu, the SPA management has started inviting all leaders as per the protocol.
