Bad roads leading to mishaps: Panel
Visakhapatnam: Finally, the Road Safety Committee found that the bad roads also causing the accidents and decided to repair the roads at all the identified locations. The committee has identified that because of the number of potholes and rough road between Anandapuram to Anakapalle causing number of accidents in the district.
During the road safety meetings all these years, the officials discussed about the negligence of the drivers, over speeding, speed breakers, signal jumps and restless duty to drivers. However, at the District Road Safety Committee meeting held on Tuesday chaired by Collector and Chairman of the Committee Pravin Kumar found that the damaged roads also causing number of accidents in the district.
Collector Pravin Kumar directed the officials of National Highway Authority of India, roads and buildings to repair all the potholes on the roads immediately. The Collector directed the officials to take up the road repair works on a priority basis.
He also advised the superintending engineers to list out the bad shape of the roads and submit the report immediately. He also directed the officials to complete the tender process to repair the roads across the district to control the number of accidents.
