Students await Vizag Gnana Bheri

Amaravati: Gnana Bheri, proposed to be organised at Andhra University Engineering College grounds in Visakhapatnam on Thursday, is expected to showcase students' talent. It will be a platform for students to interact with Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

Naidu is keen on developing skill among youth to help them meet global challenges. The purpose of the bheri is to transform AP into a knowledge hub with innovation and information technology in the forefront, an official press release said on Wednesday.

Andhra Pradesh turned the challenges it faced post bifurcation into opportunities which resulted in the state becoming No.1 in ease of doing business which attracted Rs 15.91 lakh crore and created 36.85 lakh. It was the pioneering state in introducing Internet of Things in agriculture.

Its achievements in IT Fintech Valley in Vizag are laudable for leading IT companies committed investment of Rs 30,000 crore to provide job opportunities to 1,31,748 youth in IT sector, according to the press release.

AP has turned into a knowledge hub with 323 engineering colleges and 1,10,000 students enrolling every year. Soft skill training with British Council, skill development with Jawahar Knowledge Centre and Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Dassault systems, job-oriented training with Siemens centres helping students in a big way. Six universities are in top 100 of the National Institutional Ranking Framework 2018 rankings in addition to five engineering colleges, the press release said.
