Street vendor zones created in Eluru City

Eluru: Keeping in mind the development of city, the Eluru Municipal Corporation has divided the city into three vending  zones –yellow, green and red.

A meeting of the street vending committee was convened in the chamber of municipal commissioner recently.

The meeting proposed to issue identity cards to street venders specifying their zones.

The yellow zone allows vendors to keep their carts temporarily. The areas falling under the zone include road along railway boundary, municipal boundary to Ravindra Bharati school (mini bypass)  and from municipal office to head water works.

The green zone indicates favourable places for business. The areas coming under this zone are as follows. 

From Tangellamudi centre bridge down to Jangareddigudem road  turning, Chetaparru road abutting Gajjelavari Cheruvu, adjacent to railway boundary from flyover  down to low bridge, from Panduranga theatre to Bavisettivaripet, beside canal from Karrala Vantena to BSNL office, from jute mill centre to Ravindra Bharati school, from fisheries office to park, Chintalapudi road at Sambasiva Bar, Kaikaluru bypass road abutting Venkanna Cheruvu.

The red zone reflects prohibited area. The areas are as follows. 

Collector’s office surroundings, court surroundings, ZP office vicinity, RR Pet main road, from CR Reddy Public  School  to fire station, from Badeti Chowk to Birla Bhavan.
