Tanguturi Prakasam Panthulu remembered on his Birth Anniversary
Rajamahendravaram: Mayor Pantham Rajani Sesha Sai has said that former Chief Minister Tanguturi Prakasam Panthulu was a committed leader and a great inspiration to all and a glaring example for honesty.
Paying tributes to Prakasam Panthulu in connection with his 147 jayanthi at Fortgate here on Thursday, she said he sacrificed everything for the people and plunged into politics for the people by setting aside his practice as an advocate.
He became municipal chairman at the age of 31 years and strived for the welfare of the people as well as for the development of the town.
Tanguturi Prakasam Panthulu was still alive in the hearts of the people who fought against the British in freedom struggle, she reminded.
The students should know about the great leader, she added.
Corporation Commissioner Sumit Kumar said Tanguturi Prakasam Panthulu was an able administrator as well as a great leader who always used to think about the people.
Every one in society should follow his footsteps to serve society and it was an honour to the city, as the great leader worked as chairman of the municipality.
