Parties ignoring BCs while giving tickets: RPC president Meda Srinivas
Rajamahendravaram: Rashtriya Praja Congress (RPC) founder president Meda Srinivas said that the party will launch agitation to make a BC candidate as Chief Minister after 2019 elections.
Though the BC population is high when compared to the population of other castes, the parties are treating them as vote bank, he pointed out.
Speaking to newsmen at the Press Club here on Saturday, Meda Srinivas said despite repeated requests, the parties are not rendering justice to BCs in giving tickets to contest polls stating various reasons, which cannot be accepted here after.
For the past some decades, only rich leaders are capturing power by supressing others and some parties are even ready to spend crores of rupees to contest in polls and capture power.
In the elections, money and caste are playing a key role, he said.
Many lapses are there in the welfare schemes and the genuine beneficiaries are not getting the fruits of welfare schemes, he alleged.
“TDP government mortgaged the interests of the state for its own interest and the Central government cheated the people of the state by not according special category status for the past four years.
Now it is the time to all the parties to come under one roof to fight against the Central government to get special category status to the state,’’ he added.
Party leaders KB Ram, Ramana, Murthi, SV Reddy, TG Durgesh, LD Prasad and others were present.
