Training organised on addressing various issues of adolescent girls in Tirupati

 Tirupati: A zonal level training programme was organised by the city-based NGO Rashtriya Seva Samithi (RASS) in association with Child Fund India (CFI) here on Saturday. 

Speaking at the meeting, CFI (Health wing) in-charge K Aruna said that the meeting intended to create awareness on the problems faced by adolescent girls more so in rural areas. 

The girl children entering adolescent stage which is crucial requires proper guidance to cope with the physical changes they are undergoing and also to take care of personal hygiene which is essential for good health, she explained. 

City-based voluntary organisation Women initiatives (WINS) founder President Meera, who dwelled at length on the problems being faced by adolescent girls, stressed on parents extending full support to the girls to learn the life skills and overcome the issues including health, psychological and social, they face as adolescent girls. 

RASS Project Manager (child welfare) Jayachandra said that select persons working with the NGOs in CFI programmes in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh participating in the training programme aims to help become effective with regard to child welfare including adolescent girls.
