Workshop to create awareness on RTI Act in Vizag
Visakhapatnam: Public Forum and Help to Help Foundation organised a workshop for activists to create awareness about the Right to Information Act, its implementation, problems and success stories in the city on Saturday.
Several RTI activists participated in the training programme. The activists demanded that the state government accept RTI applications online.
They also sought the government to implement RTI Act in a full-fledged manner. They opposed dilution of the law with the latest amendments such as including Data Protection Bill.
Central Information Commissioner Madabhushi Sridhar Acharyulu said that government servants are answerable to the people. There is no conflict between Right to Privacy and Right to Information.
