Parties brace for Pawan Yatra amid defections
Rajamahendravaram: TDP, YSRCP and BJP are assessing the likely impact of Jana Sena Party (JSP) as its chief Pawan Kalyan’s Porata Yatra is set to enter East Godavari district from the West Godavari in September first week.
A few leaders from these three parties joined Jana Sena and some others are expected to follow them during Pawan’s yatra. Though there has been no clear assurance from Pawan Kalyan on allotment of tickets, they are joining Jana Sena with confidence of landing a ticket.
After YSRCP chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy’s announcement that he can do nothing about Kapu reservations, the number of YSRCP leaders who joined Jana Sena has increased. YSRCP Greater Rajamahendravaram president Kandula Durgesh recently resigned from the party and announced that he is joining Sena.
Ex-minister Mootha Gopala Krishna and his son Sasidhar, Mummidivaram former co-ordinator of YSRCP P Bala Krishna, YSRCP state co-ordinator Sangisetti Ashok and others joined Jana Sena Meanwhile, District Congress Committee president Pantham Nanaji also quit the party and announced his intention to join Jana Sena in the presence of its chief Pawan Kalyan.
The leaders who have joined or going to join Jana Sena are creating a big buzz with flexis and banners of Pawan Kalyan ahead of his entry into district. Pawan appointed Mootha Gopala Krishna as a member of party's advisory council.
Rumours are doing rounds that city BJP MLA Dr Akula Satyanarayana may also join Jana Sena on being assured of Rajamahendravaram Lok Sabha ticket. Sources also say some TDP leaders are also weighing pros and cons of joining Jana Sena. Jana Sena leaders are co-ordinating their party activities with the fans of Chiranjeevi and other mega family actors to bring them under one roof, it is learnt.
