Regularisation of encroached lands by December, says Narayana

Nellore: Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana said that they had instructed the officials to complete issuing Pattas after regularising unobjectionable encroached lands in municipal areas by end of this December. He participated in a programme in city on Saturday and distributed land pattas to the beneficiaries.

Addressing the gathering on the occasion, the minister said that they had issued pattas to the poor people who encroached government lands, with no registration charges up to 100 square yards, at 15 pc on basic registration value of the land from 101 to 250 square yards and at 30 pc on basic registration value for lands admeasuring 251 to 500 square yards. He said they had denied pattas to the poor who encroached lands on various canals in the city limits due to ruling by the Supreme Court. The state government is focusing on providing housing for every poor family fulfilling their dream of having own house.

Narayana, who participated in a workshop organised by the APTIDCO at JR Colony in city, said that the state had implemented shear wall technology for constructing houses and many states across the country are showing interest on prefab and shear wall technologies. The Minister said they had constructed 4,800houses  in urban areas of the district. Housing activity in NTR Nagar has been completed and the houses would be handed over by September this year. The Chief Minister had directed the officials to provide infrastructure facilities before the houses are handed over to the beneficiaries, he said.

He reminded that Minister from Government of Goa had visited the site earlier and appreciated the efforts of the state government. The quality of housing has been excellent as they had engaged reputed agencies for taking up works. School, hospital, market and parks would be established in housing colonies, he assured. He also participated in a private programme and said that a studio will be constructed in 300 acres with Rs 5,000 crore within 10 km from Nellore which is expected to generate employment for about 15,000 people. Yesteryear actors K Bhagyaraja, Vani Sri, and others were present.
