Three ryots killed as RTC bus hits bike
Guntur: Three farmers were killed on the spot when the motorcycle on which they were travelling was hit by an APSRTC bus on Monday. The mishap occurred at Dhulipala village under Sattenapalli rural mandal of Guntur district. According to Sattenapalli rural Circle Inspector T Sarath Babu, the RTC bus belonging to Guntur-1 bus depot was going from Macherla to Guntur city.
When the bus reached Dhulipalla village, the driver of the bus tried to overtake an auto-rickshaw going in the same direction. While trying to overtake the auto-rickshaw, the driver of the bus lost control over the vehicle and hit the bike coming in the opposite direction on the highway. All the three farmers travelling on the bike died on the spot. They were going from Piduguralla to Sattenapalli town when the mishap took place.
The deceased were identified as P Nagi Reddy (55), P Sivaiah (35) and K Yallaiah (60). Nagi Reddy and Sivaiah were relatives. They hailed from Bellamkonda mandal of Guntur district.
Bodies of the deceased have been shifted to the Sattenapalli government hospital for conducting post-mortem. CI Sarath Babu, transport department officials and APSRTC officials rushed to the spot to secure the details pertaining to the accident. Sattenapalli rural police took up investigation.
