Encourage children to write poetry says Golla Narayana Rao

Vijayawada: Children should be introduced to poetry in an early stage and they should be given proper training, said Golla Narayana Rao, secretary of Andhra Arts Akademi.

He was the chief guest at the child poets’ summit organised jointly by Andhra Arts Akademi, Cultural Centre of Vijayawada and Amaravati (CCVA) and Partha Tejam, monthly magazine in connection with the birthday celebrations of Gidugu Rammurty Pantulu. 

Two volumes-- ‘Balala Swaiya Kavita Samputi’ and ‘Pasidi Kavitalu’ were released in this connection. Narayana Rao said that the children should be encouraged to write creative poetry.

Dr Venna Vallabha Rao, Kendra Sahitya Akademi awardee, said that reading of poetry would give the children relief when they are stressed with education.

Dr Eemani Siva Nagi Reddy recalled the services of Gidugu Rammurty Pantulu to Telugu language. Later, he distributed the mementoes to the students.

Dr Gumma Sambasiva Rao, researcher of Telugu history, Valiveti Sivaramakrishna Murthy, editor of Partha Tejam magazine, Jayanti Chakravarti, J Sudhakar Reddy, Avinash and others spoke.
