New policy for lorry operations in AP, TS
Vijayawada: Minister for Transport K Atchennaidu said that the new policy would be introduced for lorry operations between the two Telugu States. He took part in a review meeting with the officials here on Tuesday.
He also said that the driving tracks for learning driving would be introduced exclusively for each district in the state. On this occasion, he asked the officials to create awareness among people on road safety and traffic rules and regulations. The minister said that all the vehicles would be registered online from anywhere in the state.
The Transport department is making plans to set up a regulatory commission, he said and added that the whole transactions of the Transport department would be monitored from the proposed new setup. He instructed the officials to implement the new Act which was passed by Centre recently by relaxing the overload rules.
Several higher officials of Transport department were present in the meeting. Meanwhile, the minister also interacted with the leaders of Vaddera Sangham. They invited the minister to participate in their proposed state-level Vaddera meeting.
