Amaravati: e-Buses, also known as electric buses, will be introduced in Vijayawada within a couple of months on a pilot basis. Axis Mobility Company delegates informed the officials on Wednesday at a review meeting that they would introduce two buses in Vijayawada in the first phase and based on the public response, they will increase the services.

The delegates said that if this would get good response then they will start manufacturing the buses in Amaravati capital city itself. The buses could be operated for 25 km with one-time charging. The recharging will be completed within five minutes.

In the meeting, officials from APSRTC, AP Transco, Nedcap and other departments took part. The company has been manufacturing these buses in three models, with a length of nine metres, 12 metres and 18 metres. Out of these three models, the 12 metres model buses will fit for the roads of Andhra Pradesh, the company delegates explained.
