Engineering students need to transform as entrepreneurs: Expert
Bhimavaram: Information Technology advisor to state JA Chowdary has said that engineering students should be transformed as entrepreneurs by the time they complete their studies.
He participated as the chief guest of the programme ‘College Connect’ organised by SRKR Engineering College on the college campus here on Thursday.
He said that engineering colleges established at rural places should need experienced companies mentors to train and guide them, and these programmes would benefit the students in various aspects.
He said that the government had organised these programmes at 10 rural engineering colleges across the state, he added.
Effetronics Managing Director Ramakrishna opined that the syllabus should be changed drastically for the students.
He said that no one was using television with picture-tube but still the students study it as it was in the syllabus. He said that the syllabus should be framed as per the changing industry, he added.
Zakir Hussain, Chairman and MD of Edison UK said that these programmes would help bring out creativity from the students of rural engineering colleges.
Representatives of various companies, P Raghavendra, P Srinivas, Sharan, Anil, Deepak and others were present.
