MEPMA employees to have fixed tenure
Amaravati: The government has introduced the Human Resources Policy for the MEPMA employees. With this policy, the state government has given relief to huge number of contractual employees working under the organisation.
Municipal Administration and Urban Development department Principal Secretary R Karikal Valaven on Thursday approved the policy through a government order MS No 287. He directed the Director of Mission for Elimination of Poverty in Municipal Areas (MEPMA) to take further action in implementing it.
Every employee who is on the rolls of MEPMA on contract or outsourcing as on the date of application of Human Resource Policy applicable by the Executive Committee will be on fixed tenure of employment on contract for a period of 5 years and the tenure of employment is renewable at the end of every five years subject to satisfactory performance.
The maximum period of contract will be till the individual attains the age of 60 years, Karikal Valaven said. For the fresh appointments, the candidates will be appointed initially on contract for a short term of 2 years and later they may be given long term employment contract renewable for 5 years.
The positions being offered in the organisation include state mission manager, consultant (H&N), consultant (bank linkage), consultant in finance, state mission coordinators, CMMs technical experts, DMC or TMC working in SMMU in Head office, consultants for various purposes, community organisers, MIS managers, IT analysts, system administrators, senior and junior accountants, data processing officers, data entry operators, data processing officers, office subordinates, drivers and others. Salaries will be applicable to the officials based on their level of functional specifications, ranging from Rs 66,000 to State Mission Manager to Rs 12,000 to office subordinates.
